We aim to make decisions with a long-term perspective. This means caring for the place where we live and work, making use of local resources, and creating experiences rooted in the culture, history and nature of Tornedalen.
We work closely with local producers, businesses and associations. By highlighting what already exists here, we want to contribute to a thriving local economy and a stronger community. We believe tourism is at its best when it creates opportunities for more people to grow together.
Sustainability is also about people. We want to create a safe and welcoming workplace where our team feels involved and proud of what we are building together. We also want our guests to feel welcome, seen and inspired by the place they are visiting.
We consciously work to reduce our environmental impact. We use an electric vehicle in our daily operations, choose sustainable products and environmentally friendly cleaning products, and aim to make thoughtful choices throughout our business.
We also make use of what nature has to offer throughout the different seasons. By following the rhythm of the year and creating experiences based on the natural conditions of the place, we want to share Tornedalen in an authentic and sustainable way.
We love Övertorneå and Tornedalen. This is where our roots are, where we have chosen to build our lives, and where we want to create experiences that allow more people to discover the place that means so much to us.
At the same time, we are closer to the rest of the world than many might think, with convenient access to both Rovaniemi Airport and Luleå Airport. We want to contribute to a thriving region by creating jobs, working with local partners and giving more people a reason to visit Tornedalen throughout the year.
For us, sustainability is not a separate project – it is a way of thinking. Every decision, big or small, should contribute to a Mukka that has a positive impact on people, nature and the local community. Our hope is that every guest leaves with the same feeling we carry ourselves – that Övertorneå is a place worth returning to, time and time again.
